Fall In Love With Ariel The Little Mermaid
While we may like to believe in mermaids, we likely comprehend that they are only creatures of myth and legend. However, this shouldn’t prevent us from falling in love with these entrancing creatures and especially my favorite, Ariel.
Princess Ariel is a fictional character from Disney’s 1989 animated movie, “The Little Mermaid”. The inspiration for the movie comes from the classic fairy story, “The Little Mermaid” which was penned by Hans Christian Andersen in 1837 Ariel is from an underwater realm. She lives with her grandma, her father (the Sea King) and her five older sisters. It’s the tradition that mermaids can go to the surface of the water and watch the world above when they reach the age of fifteen. Ariel is entranced by the tales her sisters tell her about the world above. When it’s Ariel’s time to go to the surface, there is a great storm and she encounters a drowning man whom she rescues. The man is, as a matter of fact, a prince. However, he never actually sees Ariel. However, she has fallen for the Prince and is more than willing to give up her life under the sea in order to gain a human soul and the love of the prince.
The story goes that the Little Mermaid is the most beautiful of all the sisters. Her skin is radiant and delicate as a rose-leaf. Her eyes are deep blue. In the movie version, The Little Mermaid is given the name of Princess Ariel, and is given a distinct appearance with long flowing red hair, blue eyes, a green tail and a purple seashell bikini top. Glen Keane was the animator who designed the appearance of Ariel. He based her on his wife. The studio wanted Ariel to have blonde hair. The filmmakers wanted red hair and they won the dispute.
If you have fallen in love with Ariel, then wearing an Ariel mermaid costume for Halloween will go down with a splash. Take a look at our Ariel costumes website see these enchanting costumes.
