Anton Chekhov?
Can anyone name three of his early works and when they were produced? Thank you!
His first book was ‘Motley Stories’ [pestrye rasskazy] published in 1866.. It was a modest success but his first full-length play, ‘Ivanov’ [1887] was a failure. He then wrote several one-act plays, including ‘The Bear’ [1889] and ‘The Proposal’ [1889]. His next full-length plays were aso failures – The Wood Demon’ and ‘The Seagull’ [1889 and 1896] The latter was very successfully revived in 1898.
