what were the conditions under which both australian soldiers and nurses served during the boer war?
Australian soldiers often served in fairly independent units with their own junior officers. Mainly as mounted infantry and generally later in the war when the set piece battles were over. The British army was less able to adapt to the tactics used by the Boere.
