What is the difference between casewrap and a book jacket?
I read on Lulu.com that my options for publishing a hardback book with them are with a jacket and with case wrap. Can a case wrap have the title written on it, similar to a book jacket?
Yes.
Take a hardcover book off a shelf and peek under the jacket (dust cover). You’ll see the title and author name on the spine, and occassionally on the front, too, of the casewrap. Artwork is almost never done, although I’ve seen a few books with lineart on them.
I would assume selp publishers can do it, but if they can’t (or won’t without more moeny), you should consider looking elsewhere for publication.
Personally, I’d never go the selp-publishing route unless I only want the book for friends and family as a keepsake.
