British Edition

What is worth more a frist edition American Harry Potter book 1 or a British edition of it?
Just wondering.
First-edition, if you mean first-printing, well, it would vary.
The first two books, I believe (the first one for sure) were published in Britain first, so any printing errors (misspelled words, missing punctuation, etc) were caught and corrected in later printings, including American printings. I think the third book was the first that was released simultaneously. So, for the first two, the British first printing would be worth more if it were in perfect condition. From the third book on, either edition (American or British) first printing in perfect condition would be worth more than subsequent printings.
Of course, it isn’t worth much right now, because the books are readily available, but as soon as the last book comes out (Deathly Hallows), and people have a complete set of First Edition Hardcover Harry Potter books in Mint Condition, you’ll see it on eBay for a good chunk of change.
Not mine, mind you. Mine are falling apart at the bindings. 8D
