As the Christians took control, the city and it's buildings reflected the contemporary ideas of Europe at that time, notably Gothic and Renaissance designs.
The heritage of the Moorish culture that was actively destroyed by Christian rulers, plus the Gothic and Renaissance styles, gives the city a highly original and unique attraction to tourists and travelers.
