Why are governments SOOO greedy?
Like everyone is turning to debt collectors for simple things like library fines even if you owe someone a dollar they still want the one dollar soo bad. I LOVED it when we didn’t have governments or money or anything like that. Why can’t everything be FREE? I mean money does not create food, or water or anything like that. All of that stuff is free in nature and we do not need to pay for that. Electricity is also found in nature and I bet that you actually need money to create anything.
the first humans did not HAVE to BUY stuff.
When did the United States NOT have a government? In this country, the government is set up to be we, the people, who elect representatives. How greedy are we? This nation is set up to be a yin-yang balance between capitalism and socialism wherein privately owned for-profit (capitalist) corporations are offset by government-run social justice systems that keep the greed of capitalists in check. In terms of everything being “free” this is never really the case—everything has a price in one way or another. However, under the recent GOP totalitarian rule, deregulation (oversight) of corporations produced widespread greed among our corporate leaders who are now attempting to denigrate the one person with the courage to stand up to them and attempt to get some consumer protections in place in order to curtail this corporate greed—President Barack Obama. Lobbyists for special interests on Capital Hill outnumber our elected lawmakers at least 25 to 1. So what sort of checks and balances system do we, the people, have to make sure our elected representatives (our lawmakers) do not succumb to the bribes or pressures of these corporate lobbyists? We VOTE. If they are giving into the lobbyists’ greedy demands over the will of the people who elected them, then we simply VOTE THEM OUT of office and get the ones in office who do what is right by their constituents (us). It’s not that the “governments” are greedy so much as it is the voters who are lazy and the GOP right-wingers who like to deregulate everything in sight.
