Colored Plates
When marking plates, is there a standard system for identifying the media?
I recently received a set of petri dishes containing strains of E. coli and cerevisiae that I need to grow. Unfortunately, the plates are only labeled with the colored marker on the edge of the lids. I’m not sure exactly what media these plates contain. Is there a standard system for color coding the media contained in a plate, or does it vary from lab to lab?
i would check with where you got them from, they should be labeled
