do you have to complete year 12 to be in the australian sasr?
I’ve looked on the internet and as far as i can tell you dont have to complete year 12 my friend doesn’t think that you have to but recently someone told me that you have to complete year 12 be eligeble to apply for the sasr.

to get into the SASR you first have to join the military. unlike commandos you cannot get direct entry.
you do not need to complete year 12 to join the army, but if you haven’t you need to do a competency test. once in the army you can apply for selections. you most likely wont be allowed to go unless you are extremely fit and an able soldier, and have served for at least 2 years, although this is up to your superior. selections are extremely difficult and not only do most soldiers not pass, but most do not even finish the course. if you fail, you can try again next time.
they choose soldiers who are not only physically well above average ability, but also have the right mind set. you may be able to pass selections without breaking a sweat, but if they don’t think you’re right for the job they wont pick you.
if they do pick you, you have further training to complete, I believe it is about 14 months long.
