Can I re-enter Norway after having a vacation in my homecountry?
i have been living in norway since september 2006 and my philippine passport will expire april 06 2011.
i just got a permanent residency here in norway so when i got married last june 2006 in philippines, the department of foreign affairs changed my passport name on the 2nd page from (example) anne cruz to anne cruz smith using my hubbys last name.
question is, i will be travelling back to Philippines first time after almost 5 years, will they give me a hard time in the immigration back and forth since my passport will expire a little over one month before i leave? I will be staying from february 25 to march 6 2011 and my passport will expire one month after that, april 6 2011. can i comeback to schengen countries for the connecting flights and to norway where i live?
Yes. If you don’t get your passport renewed, you likely wont be allowed to even get on the flight without it. I recommend you renew it before you leave. You might have a residence permit for Norway, but that won’t get you into the countries required to fly there (eg. if you connect from Hamburg, Germany, to Oslo) you will not be able to fly there without a passport. Contact your countries embassy or department of immigration to renew your passport as soon as you can otherwise you might run into a lot of issues, or be stuck in the Philippines longer than you intended.
