What kind of laptop should we get?

I work at a decorative arts gallery and we’re looking to get a third computer, a laptop. Everyone here is familiar with computers but no one is a techie. We need it for email, printing, not storing, but being able to pull up large TIF files, and my boss would like to be able to network into the computers at the store while she is away. Any suggestions?

If I remember correctly, TIF files are image files, and I would say that an Apple laptop would be great for this. You should get at least one gigabyte of RAM, and an average graphics card (or adapter). I would guess you can get this for less than $1000. These laptops can network, print files, and do email things too of course. Apple runs the MacOS or Linux OS instead of Windows, but a computer that runs Windows will do the job too if thats what you guys are used to.
