Discovering Art

what is the best ground fighting martial art for mma?
i’ve heard a lot about how Brazilian jujitsu is becoming obsolete because so many people know about and are making a whole lot of ways to escape the holds and locks that it includes,
is this true, and if so, please tell me if there are any newly “discovered” martial arts for mma grappling and ground fighting, if not then please suggest some good mainstream martial arts for ground mma.
thank you
People are just crazy is really the answer. In the old days no one really knew how to grapple. Now that people have worked learned how to grapple; simply grappling is not enough. Karate, Judo, BJJ. Muay Thai simply are not enough in and of themselves. MMA is a sport that involves aspects of every single martial art (according to bj penn, randy couture and a lot of other fighters).
The thing with BJJ is it is a gi martial art when the gi comes off it is really nothing more than submission wrestling. That same statement goes for Judo, catch wrestling and Sambo as well. There has never been a better grappling art and there never will be.
If you really want to be a truly proficient mma grappler you need to go to a mma gym and train in it. The MMA fighters that watch and analyze fights will understand what is going on and be able to adapt and learn it.
Martial arts have been around for thousands of years. If some one says they have invented an new art they really have no idea what they are talking about. BJJ comes directly from judo. All the Gracie’s did was put heavier work on the ground and less on the take downs and Judo just comes from Japanese Jujitsu. The only difference is how good are your training partners.
If you have a good Judo guy to learn from a good BJJ guy is going to learn a lot. The same goes for stand up. If you have a good TKD guy a Muay Thai practitioner can learn too
