What does “revised edition” mean in literature?
Does it mean it was somewhat rewritten and is not the original text and writings of the original author? The reason I ask is because I want to buy David Copperfield by Charles Dickens on Amazon, but in the product details it says “revised edition”. What does that mean?
It is not the original edition. However, it was revised by the author. So what happened was after the book was printed, Dickens changed his mind on a few things. Read the revised, it is the way Dickens wanted the book read. The original unrevised edition might be labeled “Uncut”
