Fence Post is an essential tool for home owners specially having big entrance and wants to control entry point. It is a freestanding structure designed to restrict or prevent movement across a boundary.
There are various types of fence posts available in market varying from steel fence posts, wood, plastic, concrete and fences with metal material. Choosing a right fence post is very important. Here are some factors that one should consider while choosing a right fence post for home.
(1) Weather and Atmosphere:
Weather and atmosphere plays a vital role in choosing right suitable gate posts. If wind flow is too high, it is not advisable to choose very light weight fence posts as wind can blow them away.
If there is so much humidity in surroundings and frequent rain also, wood fence posts will not be good choice. Even in much moisture and humidity, steel post will not be good choice as there will be rust problem so choose such a gate posts which is built with the material suitable for weather like concrete fence posts.
(2) Size of Gate Posts:
If you are requiring gate posts for farms than short gate posts can serve your purpose but if you want them for your home at least 4-5 feet fence posts are required. Do not choose very light weight fence post for your home.
(3) The Shape and Hole to Place Fence Post:
Choose proper shaped fence post probably square and round will be nice choice. The holes in which you are going to place your fence posts should not be too large and too deep.
(4) Material of the Fence Posts:
This factor is correlated with weather and atmosphere. Material of fence posts is a very important factor to consider. For example wooden and still posts will not be good choice for areas having much rain and humidity.
For most of cases Concrete Fence Posts are the best among all type of posts available in market. Climate can not affect concrete fence posts a lot as concrete martial is mostly weather proof. They are hard and not come with very light weight so areas having heavy wind flow can not affect them.
Factors listed above looks small but it is very important to consider all of them while buying a Fence Post as it is an important forward step you are taking for your home protection and security.
