Graphic Art

Is it true Graphic Art grads get low pay?
Some graphic art student told me this. Comments anyone?
The entry level pay can be low. And a lot of companies will pay as little as possible, of course. But low relative to what? I would say a graduate of a 2 year design program who is good can make as much or slightly more — in his or her first year — as a shift manager at a fast food restaurant. Graduating from a name college, like a Pratt or a Parsons or a School of Visual Arts, would guarantee you more to start.
One last thing. Don’t enter the field thinking you’ll get rich. You may. But that would be frosting on the cake if it ever happened. Enter it out of unquenchable interest in art and design.

Pink Floyd – The Wall $18.91 By any rational measure, Alan Parker’s cinematic interpretation of Pink Floyd: The Wall is a glorious failure.
