Herman Melville

I have to read a book by Herman Melville and I was wonder what his best piece of work was to read for a teen?
I only have about 2 weeks to read the book and i am very involved in school. So it is hard to find a book short enough and good enough to hold my attention
Billy Budd. Good story and only about 130 pages. Fine story: Billy, an orphaned young man suffused with innocence, openness, and natural charisma, is adored by the crew, but for unexplained reasons arouses the antagonism of the ship’s Master-at-Arms, John Claggart, who falsely accuses Billy of conspiracy to mutiny.
Moby Dick will run about 550 pages or so. Fine book.
Both stories of the sea. Both good films:
Moby Dick with Gregory Peck as the Captain Ahab. [1956];
Man against Nature [whale and himself].
Billy Budd with Terence Stamp, and Peter Ustinov. [1962]
Billy Budd is the story of innocent man against malevolent humanity.
