High Fidelity

When was high fidelity audio invented?
OKAY- not true high fidelity, but I don’t know what else to call this- when were really crisp audio recordings first pioneered? If you listen to music recordings from the 30′s they sound like they are being played from a headphone speaker through a tin can…but just 20 years later, musicians like Marilyn Monroe and the Philharmonic produced sound like they were recorded yesterday. What equipment improvements allowed this? Also, if someone has a suggestion for the oldest song recorded that sounds high fidelity, that would be neat too!
never, it’s a lie!
