What aspects of 17th century Venice should I research to write a historical fiction novel?
I’m looking to write a historical fiction novel set in 17th century Venice. What aspects of the history, geography, environment and culture should I research further before getting started on this project?
maybe the state of the government in Italy at the time. Was the country involved in war? Venices stature amongs other Italian cities.
