History Genealogy

genealogy – Any one know which is the best way to keep a record of my family history?
Are there any paper based record sheets that are clear and easy to use as I don’t always have access to a computer. Also, there are so many computer programmes on sale, but which is the best and easiest to use?
Whe I started researching in the dim and distant past computers were NOT around and the internet arrived a long time after so paper records were what you kept and I am so pleased that I have as although I do have a family history database, with computer ‘crashes’, damaged hard drives, stolen computers etc especially in the early days………and websites full of names, places and dates that are copied without references to records, people just have a list of names and HOPE they are their family tree…………..if I had relied on computers I wouldn’t have the family history that I now have, nor the experience of research, writing it down, family trees hanging on my walls so I can see them, not hidden away inside a computer.
