Followed many threads here through link above to find this out:
Jane Austen [who had sister and several brothers and living parents] lived mostly with her family her entire life. (Life: Dec. 16, 1775–July 18, 1817)
Father was Anglican rector in Steventon in Hampshire, England, from 1765-1801. Father always very supportive of creativity in family life.
Austen wrote first draft of Pride and Prejudice, calling it First Impressions while young and at Steventon. She wrote a final draft [correction: mean initial draft, see ADD] and called it Pride and Prejudice (said to be a popular cliche at that time) and was finished with it at age 21. 1796 per my add. [See ADD below about this.]
Jane and sister Cassandra spent a short time away from family to attend Oxford (Jane left due to illness, returned home) then a boarding school (both left due to cost, returned home) and was then mostly home-schooled by father and brothers and books. The years of “away” are between 1783-85, not forgetting Jane’s return from Oxford, making her in Steventon during some months then.
Father first tried to publish Jane’s work in (including Pride and Prejudice) 1797.
Pride and Prejudice was not published successfully until 1813, due to a brother’s help as literary executor. Austen published anonymously.
In 1801, father announced retirement. Family moved to Bath, Somerset, England until his death in 1805. Jane and sister Cassandra then lived with brother Frank in Southampton, England. In 1809, brother Edward offered her (and sister, mother) a cottage in Chawton village, near his place, Chawton House, England.
In 1817, Jane left home and family to live in Winchester, England for medical treatment and died there the same year.

Good luck on your report.
[ADD: a few more details and a couple of CORRECTIONS:
When the two sisters went to Oxford, Southampton, both got sick; Jane almost died.
They went to Oxford in late 1783.
Jane stayed home after illness until both sisters went to the boarding school in 1785, but only stayed until Dec. 1786.
After 1786, Jane never lived away from family until 1817, then not for long until her death. It is very likely Jane was at Oxford only for months, not even a year. No one seems to know. This leaves her at home much of the 'away' time.
Recall that Jane's father first tried to publish Pride and Prejudice in 1797.
It was her brother Henry ('her favorite') who got Pride and Prejudice successfully published in 1813.
Initial draft done on Pride and Prejudice 'at age 21, Aug. 1797.'
[very close to 20, isn't it? seems so to me]
Revisions took place, but not many.
Jane read segments to her family in late 1790s, who all liked it the best of what she’d done to that point. With good reason.
It’s her most popular novel according to most lists.

Pride & Prejudice [Music from the Motion Picture] $10.52 The year 2005 was big for Italian composer Dario Marianelli. His score for The Brothers Grimm received much applause (probably more than the film itself) and a few months later he came back with another batch of compositions for a period film. This time around, the plaudits are reversed: The film is better than the score. And that’s not the only reversal: Since several of his compositions were to … |

Sense and Sensibility [VHS] $1.75 Emma Thompson scores a double bull’s-eye with this marvelous adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. Not only does Thompson turn in a strong (and gently humorous) performance as one of the Dashwood sisters–the one with “sense”–she also wrote the witty, wise screenplay. Austen’s tale of 19th-century manners and morals provides a large cast with a feast of possibilities, notably Kate Winslet, in her pr… |

Pride & Prejudice $6.21 Literary adaptations just don’t get any better than director Joe Wright’s 2005 version of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. The key word here is adaptation, because Wright and gifted screenwriter Deborah Moggach have taken liberties with Austen’s classic novel that purists may find objectionable, but in this exquisite film their artistic decisions are entirely justified and exceptionally well execu… |
