This comedy movie points to Jonathan Swift’s book of the same title, written in 1726. The book depicts a parody of the traveler’s tales and is in itself a satire on human nature. The story is about a travel writer named Lemuel Gulliver who takes an assignment in Bermuda, but ends up on the island of Liliput, where he towers over its tiny citizens.
The Gulliver’s Travels movie stars Jack Black as Lemuel Gulliver, Jason Segel as Horatio, and Emily Blunt as Princess of Lilliputia, among other actors. This flick is directed by Rob Letterman and written by Joe Stillman. Gulliver’s Travels is set in the new era, and funny man, Jack Black is the new Gulliver. Playing the big talking mail room clerk, finds himself in a land of tiny people, the Lilputs, after being mistakenly being assigned a travel on the Bermuda Triangle.
At first, he is enslaved by the Liliputs, but later, as they get to know him, they declare him their hero. Gulliver then learns that being small does not matter.
