Live Like King Tut On A Fabulous Egyptian Holiday
Having given birth to what many would say was the world’s first great civilisation, Egypt needs little introduction. From the hustle and bustle of thriving Cairo, to the tomb of King Tut in the Valley of the Kings and the brilliant shores of the Red Sea, Egypt has something for everyone.
History buffs will probably already have Egypt on their top destination list. Giza may be a major tourist attraction, but no visit to Egypt would be complete without a stop off here. From the Sphinx to the Great Pyramids, you’re definitely going to want to take some postcard-worthy photographs. The pyramids may be considered by some to be a bit cheesy but allow your mind to wander back to the ancient era and really consider what a great achievement they are.

As most of Egypt’s kings and queens travelled this way, you’ll be getting a true taste of Egyptian culture. Definitely make sure to plan some time for exploring the Valley of the Kings. Out of the 63 tombs here, 18 are open to the public, including that of the world’s most famous pharaoh, King Tut. While the Valley of the Kings is the main attraction, if you have time try to explore the Valley of the Queens and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut as well.
Sharm el Sheikh is a great destination for holidaymakers who are looking more to relax. Although it was once a tiny finishing town, it is now celebrated as one of the world’s best diving sites, and thus very popular with tourists. In addition to enjoying the underwater brilliance of the Red Sea and Sharm’s beautiful beaches, those looking for a glimpse at the past can trek the Holy Mountains. Among these peaks is the famous Mount Sinai, where Moses received the 10 Commandments.Another attractive of historic importance includes St Catharine’s Monastery which is home to an interpretation of the famous ‘burning bush’.
