Kinky Friedman
Kinky Friedman says it was Santa who killed Jesus. How true is that?
He does have a point.
During say the 1600′s or such, Religion was the back bone of society. They would never think of missing a Sunday because they really believed in God and Jesus.
Now however, society has changed. People started questioning if there was a God or Jesus. It was also a time where parents would tell their children that if they didn’t be good, the old man with a sack full of presents didn’t get them anything. So instead of Jesus, children had ideas put into them that would last a lifetime, that Santa was the one who brought the presents.
So if you install ideas of Jesus into people when they were young, they would believe in Jesus more. Same goes with Santa.
So the idea of a Santa Claus killed the idea of Jesus.
