Law Legal

Is there a law/ legal precedence that would support my request that my college transcript NOT include my bday?
I asked my college to issue my transcript WITHOUT my date of birth. They insisted that all transcripts must include the date of birth (including the year). I am applying for jobs and none of the employers ask for the date of birth on the application form. I get the impression that this is to avoid any problems with civil rights issues. Any suggestions you might have will be appreciated. Thanks.
Interesting question. I just had a look at my BS (Excelsior College) transcript and noticed that it had no date of birth on it at all.
Given that employers may not discriminate on the basis of age, a DOB on the transcript could make this quite easy since it’s pretty clearly stated in some cases.
You might want to find out from your college if there is a state law requiring your DOB to be on the transcript. If not, it might just be college policy, and a college policy is not a law therefore amenable to change.
