Little Black
What does it mean when you have lots of little black charcoal like particles in the oil?
I use full synthetic so its easy to see but this builds up i my oil quickly there like little black carbon particles almost like charcoal or coal.
They are being stopped by the oil filter but what is wrong with my engine?
The car has a charcoal filter which absorbs excess fuel until the engine warms up,then a valve opens and the engine draws air thru the canister to flush it out for the next cold start. This air does not come in by the obvious path,but is usually mated with the PCV system.
Maybe the canister has a filter or screen that keeps the carbon sequestered,but if it fails……….. Just a guess
