at one time I would have agreed with everyone else about the Met but after 10 years in NYC I was longing to not see La Boheme every year the same Tosca with second string casts and when something different came into the repertoire you got it back a season later but usually only the dogs …. Chicago and San Francisco are the best they get the up and comers while they are still freshed voiced and amazing and will take chances on staging operas for the stars (i.e. Louise for Renee Fleming in San Francisco)
