Is Elric really becoming a movie?
Elric of melnibone (books by Michael Moorcock) really becoming a movie or is that all just bluff? If it is, could some one send me the trailer. Thanks a lot ~! 
The books were optioned for a few years by Universal but they’ve since let the option lapse according to Moorcock, though he says “other options are on the horizon” (whatever they might be). AFAIK Chris Weitz is still attached to the project and (director) Michael J Bassett and (actor) Michael Sheen have both expressed an interest in the Elric movie(s) but according to Moorcock nothing firm is happening on that front at the moment. Main problem in getting the films made at the moment seems to be the economics – certainly after _The Chronicles of Riddick_ flopped Moorcock feels Universal got cold feet over making anti-heroic fantasy epics, which is why they didn’t happen sooner. However, he seems optimistic that something will happen eventually.
