How do I make a mini book for my preschool lesson plan.?
My lesson with the preschool class I took for this semester is on rain. I need a small, 4 page minibook and I dont know how to start one.
This will make a book that you can easily make copies of.
1. Take a piece of 81/2 x 11 printer paper and fold it into fourths. If your book is about rain, you might want to consider using blue printer paper.
2. Hold the folded paper with the fold side up, and the open ends at the bottom. This is your book.
3. It’s a little tricky to get it all printed and folded correctly again, so while the paper is folded into fourths, number the pages. The front “cover” is page #1. Take a pencil and put a 1 on this page. The inside pages are #2 and #3. The back page is #4. Mark each page with the correct number.
4. Unfold the paper so it is flat again. Make your pictures and text on the areas where you marked the numbers.
As an alternative, you can just cut a piece of paper into fourths, and staple the pages at the side. You could make a cover for the book from construction paper if you wish. Sometimes staples aren’t allowed because kids can catch their fingers on them, so the folded option may be better depending on the requirements.
Do you need help with text and pictures?
Keep the whole thing very simple. Something like: page 1: Rain comes from clouds. (have child draw a picture of a cloud) page 2: Rain is water for plants and grass. page 3: sometimes there is thunder during a rainstorm. page 4: We need umbrellas when we go out in the rain.
