Mystery Scene

Any suggestions for a good romantic thriller mystery?
I love to read mystery novels, but I need some passion, too, ya know? I want more than your typical suspense-murder case, though; I’m looking for a riveting suspense mystery with some racy sex scenes in it, too.
Vulgarity is okay, but I’m not talking anything of the horror genre. I do like suspense, but not guys in hockey masks popping out of the woods to chop your head off! I’m more the psychological thriller type.
Do you have any good titles or authors you can suggest with heart-pounding mystery solving and hot, passionate, maybe even forceful sex?? I also love the type where people are facing “demons in the closet” or secret pasts. Thanks for your help!
I am a big fan of Diana Gabaldon. Her books are not specifically thriller or mystery, but I think you would like them from what you said. She writes historical fiction, and her Outlander series has time-travel, lots of steamy sex, murder, pirates, secrets, romance, mysteries and lots of great visual descriptions. I have read all but the last in the series, and I have loved each one. I hope you enjoy them!

Eddie and the Cruisers $3.85 Perhaps best known for its faux Springsteen soundtrack, the 1983 Eddie and the Cruisers is a rock lover’s fantasy run wild. The story finds a reporter (Ellen Barkin) tracking down rumors of an unreleased album by a band whose charismatic leader (Michael Paré) allegedly died years before. As she approaches surviving members–who have since gone on to other things–she gets different points of view… |

Meet Joe Black: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack $6.15 Meet Joe Black, director Martin Brest’s remake of the ’30s semiclassic Death Takes a Holiday, took widespread critical potshots for its three-hour length and laconic pace. Ironically, composer Thomas Newman’s score is a compelling exercise in musical economy–spare, emotionally longing arrangements where the spaces resonate almost as much as the notes. The composer (youngest son of the great film … |

Vanilla Sky $2.59 Given his status as America’s top male sex symbol, there’s a perverse irony to Tom Cruise’s virtually simmer-free performances in would-be erotic thrillers like Eyes Wide Shut and this Cameron Crowe remake of Spanish director Alejandro Amenábar’s Abre los Ojos (Open Your Eyes). But if Crowe stops just short of delivering another undercooked holiday Tom turkey, his vaunted early career as boy-wond… |

Safe House (Two-Disc Combo Pack: Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + UltraViolet) $23.96 The first hint that Safe House will be a notch above the typical thriller comes from the list of supporting actors: Brendan Gleeson, Vera Farmiga, Sam Shepard, Rubén Blades–that’s a smart cast. Then the movie starts quietly: Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) holding his girlfriend’s hand, Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) having a drink with an old friend⦠then that friend gives Frost a microchip… |
