Old Leather

Old Leather
whats the best way to bring back life to my old leather work boots?

i want to know the best way to restore life and softness to my leather work boots. they are not cracked, just dirty/dry looking, and the leather has hardened from not being worn. please give me tips/directions on how to do this myself, ideas on products and methods to use. thanks

There are many products designed to renew and protect leathers. Neatsfoot Oil is a product that’s been around for ages. Doc Martin has something called Wonder Balm that I’ve used for years and comes with its own applicator sponge. The Wonder Balm is more like a pasty wax substance than the Neatsfoot oil. If the leather of your boots is hard/stiff, I’d start with the oil as it will penetrate deeper into the leather. Once you get it supple again, consider a balm to seal in the oils.

Another thing to think about is a separate water shield spray. I know Wilson Leather carries a spray that can be used on all leathers and the nice thing about the spray is it also weatherproofs the seams and stitching as well as the leather.

Can an old leather jacket still be fashionable worn?
