The Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar has also been a popular option.Overall there were 10,008 minted.Juliet May Fraser was the person behind the creative design of this coin.These commemorative coins were introduced in 1928.
One of the most important pieces throughout history was the 1899 Lafayette Dollar.This was the first legal tender coin to have the president on it (George Washington).The name of the coin (Lafayette Dollar) was also on the coin, which was a first as well.Then of course it had the president on both sides of the coin for the first time.
