What was the thing called that Caused the Canadian Pacific Railway to be built?
It was the National something…I can’t remember. All I remember is that tariffs and relocating to the western part of Canada…
I have no idea what the “National” thing is that you were looking for.
British Columbia demanded a transport link to the east as one of its conditions for joining the Confederation of Canada
Manufacturers in Quebec and Ontario wanted to be able to source raw materials from the west of Canada
The Government saw transport links as an important part of unifying the nation
