Palo Alto

Palo Alto
Best place to live in or around Palo Alto?

I will be accepting a job in Palo Alto. I am wondering if this is the best place to live or if there are cities close by that would be a good place to live. I would like to keep my commute to 30 minutes or less. I’m in my late 20′s, enjoy cafes, bars, outdoors, shopping, etc.

We’ll if you can afford it I’d say:

-Mountain View keeps you a little further from Stanford but closer to San Jose
-Palo Alto is always an option
-Sunnyvale is affordable and very low key…but lacks the spice of SJ, Palo Alto but not a far drive from things.
-Redwood city not a bad choice either, just not much to do. But remember everything on the 101 side of the bay 15minute drive can get you where ever you want

-(My Fav) is San Mateo because you are 15minutes from SF, 15 mins from Palo Alto. Has a small downtown with good food and cafe’s, hillsdale mall is down the road and the BART is a short drive so you can hop on that to go into SF.

Palo Alto Morning traffic is pretty bad on the 101, the 280 is the best route to commute.
