Why is the South liberals favorite punch line? The smartest people in the world come from there!?
How many presidents have came from the south? My family and I came from Germany(the best country in the world!) and reside here in what you would call the South. Liberals like to say southerns don’t read books or wear shoes(or some stupid thing like that!) Oh, I beg to differ! I have been around the world London, Paris, Washington. I personally believe the smartest people in the world come from the South(and Germany!) Not only are they some of the smartest people, but by far the kindest! Lesson to the Liberals: Talk what you know, not what you think you may know!
Well, if you mean Clinton, Gore, Carter, Flannery O’Conner, Martin Luther King, and Dolly Parton, you’re right.
The south gets a bad rep from their combination of Bible-thumpers and fearmongering Republican politics. Plus their history of resistance during the civil rights era. The images of those whites protesting allowing little black children to go to school in Arkansas, Alabama, etc. are still vivid in people’s minds. I did find Germans very smart when i was there, but I thought they had more in common with the US north than south.
