Big Red Book Accounting and Payroll Software
Big Red Book was founded in 1993 by an accountancy firm by the name of Bryan Phelan & Associates. Their reason for developing Big Red Book was to make life easier for both Accountants and their clients. Instead of receiving the usual boxes of invoices and receipts they created a simple and easy to use computerised accountancy software solution.
In 2001 Big Red Book was spotted by a dynamic young entrepreneur who recognised the nationwide potential of this product. Marc O’Dwyer was the Managing Director of IIS a leading Take 5 reseller in Ireland. He saw Big Red Book as a new and exciting way to break into the Irish software market independently.
The Irish Software market at the time was predominately controlled by one or two multi nationals and Marc recognised a niche in the market for an easy to use Irish software solution. Money was invested into building Big Red Book into a well known brand name within the Irish software market and to move it forward from the 1000 existing customers to where it stands today with over 16000 customers within the Ireland and the UK.
The core business of Big Red Book is accounting software but they wanted to be able to expand on their range of products so Payroll Software was the next obvious move and could be sold into their Big Red Book customer base.
With the Big Red Book range of accounting and payroll software Big Red Book have the most comprehensive line-up of products that span the market. Big Red Book is used by over sixteen thousand Companies in Ireland and the UK today.
Big Red Book is such a successful product that 48% of yearly sales are recommended by professionals in the industry such as accountants and IT companies.
