Samuel Pepys

who was samuel pepys’ maid between 1665-1666?
i really need this answer for my history exam and i can’t find it anywhere!
Pepys writes quite often about his servant, Jane Birch, and it was Jane (I think it was the same one) who woke him early in the morning of 2 September 1666 to tell him of the Great Fire. He mentions Jane at the very beginning of his diary, in 1660.

In the diary entry, he also mentions his “mayds”, but without reading the whole of the years you mention I don’t know whether he gives their names.
Ah – Pepys mentions his maids on 30 June 1665 – “Myself and family in good health, consisting of myself and wife, Mercer, her woman, Mary, Alice, and Susan our maids, and Tom my boy. In a sickly time of the plague growing on.”

Susan is mentioned again on 1 September 1665, and Mary on 6 September, and his wife’s maid Mercer on 22.
Hope this is enough. You can scan the links above for the months/years that you want.
