Senior High
How do Americans refer to secondary school? Is it senior high school, high school or something else?
This would be in the context of a conversation. For example say somebody was saying ‘my last year in (senior?) high school’.
Usually just high school, but sometimes senior high school. It goes like this:
Elementary school or grade school (kindergarden-5th or 6th grade)
Middle school or junior high (6th or 7th grade-8th grade)
High school or senior high school (9th grade-12th grade)
