Sewing Book

Which sewing book should I get since I’m a beginner?
I want to learn to sew for cosplay. I search online and found this book http://www.amazon.com/Sew-Fast-Easy-Need-Start/dp/0312269099/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276893580&sr=1-1
but later i found this book instead and wondered if this book is ok for me since I’m just starting?
http://www.amazon.com/Costume-Technicians-Handbook-Complete-Professional/dp/0435086103/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276893379&sr=8-4
or should i get this one?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0325004773/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A2W95CON5IXOAS
is there any sewing book you like to recommend me?
Start out with a good beginner’s book. I prefer Crawford’s Guide to Fashion Sewing, but it’s strictly garment sewing and rather expensive, as it’s a beginning fashion textbook. The usual choices for most beginners in the US are Simplicity’s Simply The Best Sewing Book, any esition of Reader’s Digest Complete Book of Sewing (title varies) or a number of other basic books. Check your library or bookstore for some that make sense to you. Don’t look for flashy illustrations, look for good, clear writing and photos or drawings.
When you can sew a t-shirt, a pair of pants with a zipper, and a camp shirt, then you’re ready to start thinking about costuming. Check some of the suggestions at http://www.costumes.org — the costumes tech handbook you mention is too advanced for you at the moment.
Have fun!
