The Journey Of Female Movie Stars

While many actresses dream of becoming famous movie stars, very few of them are actually able to truly achieve that goal.It is very difficult to compete with the large number of other women, who flock to Hollywood for trying to bag the few amount of meaty roles that can actually make them a big star.

Many famous female movie stars had contacts within the Hollywood elite. When an actress is born into a show business family she often profits from her connections with influential people in the industry and gains knowledge of the business from an early age. Some examples of this would be Drew Barrymore, Jane Fonda, Lisa Minnelli, and Angelina Jolie. These actresses often become major stars more due to the acting abilities they gained from a lifetime of exposure and experience than because of their family connections.

Other actresses became famous female movie stars because of some quality that set them apart from the rest.Often that quality is simply an outstanding acting talent as in the case of Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis and many others.

Another problem that these famous female movie stars face is the mode in which they transition from a particular role of a teenager to a middle-aged wife and even a grandmother, depending on their real life age and movie script requirementsAt times, the audience stereotypes an actress with a particular genre of role and this can kill the career of the movie star. This killed the careers of some of Hollywood’s greatest stars, most notably that of Shirley Temple whose career quickly died in her early twenties because fans didn’t want her to grow out of her sweet little darling character.

Some famous female actresses manage to overcome aging and continue very successfully as in the case of Brooke Shields, Barbara Stanwyck and many others. This can be done by playing roles in different movies, which slowly transition them from one age group to the next age group, and hence ensure that the audience gets a smooth transition. A teenager might begin portraying romantic roles at age 15 or earlier while she is still a famous child star. Then play motherly roles by age 35 or so while she’s still playing romantic leads and move on to an occasional more elderly role around age 50 or so. In that way the actress can bring her current fans along for the ride.

The boom in the cable and satellite television has provided an immense opportunity to the actors to not only have more options, but a longer super-star life. The ever growing number of channels has created many openings for new and upcoming actresses to enter show business. In addition, many producers look at signing up the famous female movie stars in diverse roles for their television shows. This allows the actresses to get into different characters, which suit her age group better, and improve the longevity of their careers. The ever growing popularity of internet TV and the ability to stream internet video to your big screen television set will most likely continue to multiply those opportunities in the future!
