Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud says that there is a sadist inside the mind of every human being?
There is a rapist, paedophile, robber, murderer, torturer inside every human mind and while some let loose their thinking by actually committing such crimes (other than of course been a robber which is not dangerous ) others go through their entire lives by controlling those vile desires says Sigmund Freud.
Is he right or wrong?

While its easy to attack sigmund wot makes you think the old chap is wrong?
You can never have a “right” or “wrong” answer when it comes to questioning human nature/traits/personalities. Because it is pretty much impossible to ever be able to control all possible contributing factors whilst testing people/behaviours and the environmental influences that may play a role.
I agree in the sense that we’re all capable of anything. I might not dream up murdering people the way those sociopath serial killers might, but it does not mean that I will never be capable of killing someone.
I think when it comes to things such as rape, torture and the really extreme stuff, there is generally something “odd” with the biological foundations of the individual…whether it is a lack of, or excessive chemicals or “abnormal” drives. Of corse who are we to determine what is abnormal? We call them abnormal because we’ve been fed all these stories about morals and values and how it is wrong to kill another person. But if you change the context and place yourself in the place of one of our ancestors, killing someone may have been the normal thing to do, and the inability to kill may have been an “abnormal” weakness.
Us humans over analyse ourselves because we are such curious creatures, and we praise ourselves as superior to animals because of our “conscious” or cognitive abilities which we believe animals lack. But I tend to think were very much like animals, the only difference is along the way we’ve made up religious and cultural stories to shape our minds and mold us into believing we are meant to be a certain way and that no other options are acceptable for us… we are tamed by social norms and man-made concepts.
So perhaps Freud was onto something when he said we all have it in us and that some are just more controlled…but like i said, you could never have a right or wrong answer – humans are too complex and we all vary in nature, so it may be true for some, but not necessarily for all.
