Still Life
What are the characteristics of still life?
By characteristics I mean what makes something still life in paintings and stuff.
One of my interests is photography. Still life for me is usually something that has taken my eye usually indoors. It could be a shadow on a ceiling; fruit in a fruit bowl; a pair of shoes carelessly left on the floor and then sunlight steams through a window and makes this mundane sight into a vision; still life I feel is something also arranged, not street photography even if the subject is perfectly still or a tree or a house or a landscape – even if that landscape is covered in snow and is still as the grave.
