How were biracial people treated during the Third Reich?
How did they treat biracial people during the Third Reich? Let’s say you were half Black, Spanish, or Brazilian and half German, had sandy blonde hair, and blue or green eyes? Would they be prejudiced? What would they do to you?
Hitler believed that pure blooded Germans were the superior race (the Herenfolk) and that all other races were inferior to them-with Jews, Slavs and Gypsies at the bottom (the Untermenschen). he also believed in the divine essence of pure german blood and as soon as he came into power he introduced a raft of legislation desinged to prevent this blood being tainted. This included being tained with the blood of pure blooded germans with inherited or genetic diseaeses. Tramps and germans with conditions such as epiliepsy were forcibly sterilised and later, under the euthenasia programme, thousands of pure blooded german children with learning disabilities etc were ‘mercifully’ killed. Therefore, since his aim was to prevent the contamination of the blood, anyone in the third reich of mixed race would be persecuted in a similar way. Black people too. In the Munich Olypics when Jesse Owens won gold medals Hitler was furious as it made his claime that Germans were the superior race look foolish. As for the blonde hair blue eyed thing, if Hitler was gong to kill anyone without it, he would have had to commit suicide and kill most of his top officials! The blonde haired blue eyed thing was his idea of how the future highly bred race of ‘supermen’ would look. It was the purity of the BLOOD that mattered to Hitler.
