Where is it that Thomas Jefferson advocated teaching the Bible and Isaac Watts Hymnal in public schools?
It has been said that Thomas Jefferson stated that any standard text can be used for Math, History, Science, and so on, but that no one should be considered educated without a solid knowledge of the Holy Bible and Isaac Watts Hymnal. Possibly when setting forth the curriculum for the Washington, D.C. schools while President.
