Baus in German? as in Die Jahre vergingen wie Saus und wie Braus – from the song Nordseekus?
I know that brau is brew so is this saying that the years passed by in a rush with drinking?
Ah that’s Nordseekuste 
sausen and brausen also mean moving rapidly like to zoom or to hurtle.
If something went by “in Saus und Braus” ( it is an idiom ) it was a rush.
Klaus & Klaus sung “wie Saus und wie Braus” because of the measure and rhyme.
To brew is “brauen”
