War Book

What is that one thick, famous book about war most of us are too intimidated to read?
Im pretty sure the word “War” is in the title… but I cant promise you… no guarantee.
Its not The Art of War nor is it War and Peace… its a different book
American or European… cant be more than a century old
major cultural influence. Literary art that no modern school even mentions any more.
Rise and Fall of the Third Reich is a great narrative of Hitler and Germany’s rise to power, but I doubt it’s what they were thinking of.
If it’s not War and Peace, which I suspect it is if War’s in the title and it’s thick…Only two books immediately come to mind as “famous”, but neither are really “thick.”
Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms
and Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front.
Pentagon’s ‘Burn a Book Day’: War memoir destroyed as ‘security threat’
