Top 10 Highest Priced Paintings Ever Sold
Most of us are aware that fine art is often amazingly costly, so much so that only the richest and most powerful people in the world could possibly hope to own it. Most of the time, a single individual could not possibly hope to own a invaluable fine art painting and it would likely end up taking an entire organization to have the funds necessary to obtain one. In 3rd place is a work by Gustav Klimt entitled “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I” that makes heavy use of gold and is undoubtedly a symbol for opulence, even today.
The top selling paintings in the world are obviously not works that most of us could possibly hope to afford, but thankfully, due to their high price they are likely to be preserved for most years to come. Rounding out the rest of the top five are “Portrait of Doctor Gachet” by Van Gogh and “Bal du moulin del la Gallette” by Renoir. After these we have Picasso’s “Dora Maar au Chat”, “Nude, Green Leaves and Bust”, as well as “Garcon a la pipe” – all 3 master pieces in their own right. Van Gogh has 2 other works that finish off this list: “Irises” and “Portrait of Joseph Roulin”. These works are all some of the most spectacular in the world today, giving us a lot to elegance. The excellent thing is, you may own works like these today if you would like to without being a billionaire.
