World Library

How can I troubleshoot the problem of playing World of Warcraft using the WIFI in a library?
I have never had this problem before. I always played World of Warcraft in the library over the summer. Ever since Cataclysm came out, it’s not letting me play in the library; it always says “Launcher cannot obtain patching information. Please check your internet configuration.” I am connected to the library internet. I already have the patches for the game. I was able to play at my grandpa’s house, but not at the library. What should I do?
That is probably a firewall problem. The game client is not able to connect with the internet connection because of a barrier. I’m pretty certain that public PCs sometimes block access to certain websites and programs, so it may be that your library has gotten word that people were using their WiFi to play WoW.
Network administrators will be able to track down the programs accessing their bandwidth, so it’s not far-fetched that they’ve seen how much WoW eats up their bandwidth and affects the connection of other library users.
On your end, check your firewall settings as well, but I doubt that’s the problem since you said you can play just fine at your grandpa’s.
